FRAUD ALERT - 2/7/2014

One bank customer recently reported receiving the e-mail below, notifying him that his debit card had been blocked.  It instructed him to open an attachment to the e-mail.  This is no doubt a fraud attempt and the attachment likely contained a virus or some sort of program to aid the criminal.  To protect your identity and confidential information, please be diligent in scrutinizing your emails and cautious before opening e-mail attachments.  




12/27/2013 Update - If you used your debit card at Target between November 27 and December 15, we will be sending you a new debit card.  You may continue to use your current debit card until you receive your new debit card..  Please watch for important communications via the mail regarding your debit card replacement.


Recent news coverage of a data breach at a major US retailer may have you concerned about the safety and security of your bank account and debit card.  Therefore, we are posting information that you may find helpful.  However, always feel free to contact us by phone if you have questions or concerns.. 

  • If you used your debit card at a Target store between November 27 to December 15, there is a chance your card information may be at risk.  Rest assured, as we receive more information we will be in contact with you to let you know the status of your debit card as necessary. 

  • We have systems in place to detect and stop unusual debit card activity until we can confirm the activity as legitimate.  These systems can not prevent all unauthorized activity but can significantly minimize the impact and volume of activity.

  • Just because you used your card during the dates shown above does not necessarily mean that your card has or will have unauthorized charges.  However, we are taking proactive steps to protect your debit card and account.  This may include replacing your debit card as we review a list of potentially compromised cards.

  • Your checking account number was not compromised as part of this data breach.

  • We have received information that the Target Red Card where purchases are deducted directly from your checking account was not affected.

  • If there are any unauthorized transactions as a result of this situation, you will not be responsible for these transactions.

  • Keep a close eye on your account and the transactions that post.  Do not wait for your monthly statement to review your transactions.  Consider signing up for Internet Banking and text message balance alerts to keep a close eye on your account.  You can also access your accounts 24 hours/day by calling our phone banking system:
